Excess Luggage Options

We understand that some of our guests are travelling to multiple countries on their journey and sometimes have larger suitcases. If you are travelling with larger bags that exceed our requirements we do have a number of solutions to choose from:

A Luggage Storage facility is located on the ground floor (Arrival Concourse) of Nadi Airport. Prices are from FJD10 per piece per day (subject to change). It is a secured facility, manned 5am – 10pm a day.

The following excess luggage transfer options must be pre-booked a minimum of 72hrs prior to arrival. Please contact us to make arrangements.

If you wish to take all your luggage to the resort we are able to arrange a taxi to take your luggage down the coast and a boat to transfer the luggage to the island. The cost for this service is FJD$645 one way.
For oversized luggage requiring a minivan; such as surfboard, kite surfers, etc., the cost for this service is FJD$785 one way.

Dress Code - What to pack

Royal Davui Fiji is a relaxed casual resort, with dress being informal. Most guests dress a little more formal for evening meals (ties or jackets are not required). We recommend you pack shorts, cotton shirts, sundresses, swim suits and a pair of rubber soled shoes or reef walkers if you want to explore the coral. During our cooler months (Jun – Aug) you may want to pack some warmer clothes as dining is generally outdoors. Fiji’s sun can be strong, therefore we also suggest you bring sun glasses and sun screen. Pool/Beach Towels are provided on the island.

Duty Free Alcohol

We are fully licensed resort and do not accept BYO alcohol unless it is the duty free allowance per adult (currently 2.5ltrs of Spirits or 4.5ltrs of Wine).
The duty free allowance can only be consumed in the privacy of your Bungalow or Villa and is not permitted in the bar, restaurant or public area

Weather and climate

A year-round destination, Fiji has a tropical climate as dynamic as the scenery.

We enjoy average daily temperatures around 32°C (92°F) from September to February and  27°C (82°F) from March to August.
From November to February, water temperatures can be as high as 29°C (84°F), and on average 24°C (79°F) between June and October.

November to March is Fiji’s “Tropical Season”. During these hotter humid months it is possible to experience an afternoon shower, however it still a fabulous time to travel.

Electricity & Adaptors

Electrical generators on the island provide 240volt AC with all the power points on the island being 3 prong (the same as Australia and New Zealand). We recommend bringing adaptors for any electronics that do not fit the outlets in the villas.

Please ensure you check the voltage requirement of all electronics prior to use.

Fresh Water

Royal Davui obtains fresh water from a natural spring located on Beqa Island which is piped to the island. Purified water is available for guests throughout the resort.

Same day bag wash laundry is available on the island at a surcharge. This service is a wash, dry and fold service only and dry cleaning is not available.

Check In & Check Out

Check-in time is 1pm and check-out time is 10am.
Where possible, flexibility with early check-in and late check-out will be provided, however, these are unable to be guaranteed.
The facilities of the resort are available for enjoyment whilst at the property.

Hair Dryers & Irons

All Bungalows and Villas have hairdryers, irons and ironing boards for guests.
Please note that most hair straighteners and irons from the US are not dual voltage and as such should not be plugged into the power supply on the island.

Drone Usage Policy

For privacy and safety reasons, drones and other flying devices of similar nature are not allowed at Royal Davui. Guests may fly their drone at the Sand Cay, however must register their drone on arrival at Nadi Airport and must comply with all Fijian Laws regarding height etc.
