LUGGAGE PIECE ALLOWANCE
Due to our remote location and space restrictions, strict luggage weight and item limits apply for aircraft and helicopter transfers. Guests are permitted 1 checked item and 1 small personal item (laptop/bag or purse or a handbag) per person.
LUGGAGE WEIGHT ALLOWANCE
The following total weight limits apply per person
• Plane: 23kg (50lb)
• Helicopter: 20kg (44lb)
Your allowance includes all handbags, camera bags, backpacks and luggage, with all baggage weighed at check in. All luggage is considered “checked” as it must be stored in the hold of the aircraft or helicopter.
LUGGAGE DIMENSIONS
Due to limited storage, luggage exceeding these dimensions will not be accepted:
75cm (30in) x 50cm (20in) x 30cm (12in)
We recommend using soft duffle bags for easy stowage and ask that no single piece exceeds the personal limit.
Helicopter transfers allow a maximum combined body and luggage weight of 208kg per couple. Guests are allotted a maximum luggage allowance of 20kg per person, encompassing all items such as handbags, camera bags, duty-free, and luggage. Baggage will be weighed at check-in, and no single piece should exceed 20kg, as bags exceeding this limit will not be uplifted. To optimize space, avoid sharing one large bag between two guests. For excess luggage options, kindly reach out to us for further assistance.
Hibiscus Air, Sunflower, and Heli-Tours Fiji have a maximum individual passenger weight limit of 120kg (260lbs), as well as a total payload aircraft weight. Passengers with a personal body weight of 120kg (260lbs) or more are requested to contact us at res@royaldavuifiji.com
EXCESS LUGGAGE
Any excess baggage that can be carried will incur additional excess fees payable at the resort, at FJD10/kg.
Carriage of excess baggage cannot be guaranteed and is dependent on the aircraft payload limitations.
Should the payload exceed the safe operating limit, guests who have exceeded their personal allowance must have their luggage transported to the resort via road & boat with charges ranging from FJD410 – FJD$820.
Transfers (including excess luggage) are only able to operate during daylight hours and have a minimum requirement of 2 guests per booking, please contact us for further assistance.
Check-in is from 3:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am. We endeavour to check guests into their villa as soon as possible so your Fiji vacation can begin. Early check-in and late check-out will be arranged automatically, subject to availability. Guests are welcome to arrive on the island before check-in or remain after check-out to enjoy the resort facilities
Villa assignment is based on the check in/out of the day and as such specific villa assignment can not be guaranteed.
In Fiji, tipping is not customary, nor required. Fiji is a communal society, and as such, everything is shared. In lieu of tipping individuals we have a “Staff Christmas Fund” available should you wish contribute to the staff as a whole.
Guests are welcome to leave a gratuity on their on island account for settlement by cash or credit card.
Pack light and enjoy the relaxed tropical atmosphere with comfortable, light clothing. Royal Davui provides a laid-back environment with no specific dress code. Most guests choose resort casual attire during the day, with some dressing more formally in the evenings. We kindly ask that guests respect local customs by wearing a shirt in the restaurant and bars, and request that swimwear be covered by a shirt or wrap in dining areas and the central complex.
We recommend you pack shorts, cotton shirts, sundresses, swim suits and a pair of rubber soled shoes or reef walkers if you want to explore the coral. During our cooler months (Jun – Aug) you may want to pack some warmer clothes as dining is generally outdoors. Fiji’s sun can be strong, therefore we also suggest you bring sun glasses and sun screen. Pool/Beach Towels are provided on the island.
We are fully licensed resort and do not accept BYO alcohol unless it is the duty free allowance per adult (currently 2.5ltrs of Spirits or 4.5ltrs of Wine).
The duty free allowance can only be consumed in the privacy of your Bungalow or Villa and is not permitted in the bar, restaurant or public area.
Please be mindful of your duty free weight impacting your luggage allowance.
Fiji enjoys warm, tropical weather all year. Average daytime temperatures range between 26–32°C (79–90°F), and the island benefits from sunshine throughout every season.
Electrical generators on the island provide 240volt AC with all the power points on the island being 3 prong (the same as Australia and New Zealand). We recommend bringing adaptors for any electronics that do not fit the outlets in the villas.
Please ensure you check the voltage requirement of all electronics prior to use.
All Bungalows and Villas have hairdryers, irons and ironing boards for guests.
Please note that most hair straighteners and irons from the US are not dual voltage and as such should not be plugged into the power supply on the island.
Royal Davui is a year-round destination. Warm tropical weather and calm waters make every season ideal for diving, snorkelling, and exploring Beqa Lagoon. Couples often choose the island for honeymoons and anniversaries because the privacy and seclusion are constant throughout the year. Whether you’re visiting for adventure or romance, the best time to experience Royal Davui is whenever it suits your travel plans.
